I mentioned this the other day, but if you like acoustic/folk/good music in general, you need to check this guy out. If anything just check it out and be surprised by the voice that comes out of this guy (in my opinion, they don’t really match up).
So, his album Animals in the Dark is fantastic. Thing’s I’ve been absolutely in love with lately:
the Avett Brothers - I and Love and You
City and Colour - Bring Me Your Love
the American Analog Set - Know By Heart
Also, Adam (if you’re reading this) City & Colour are supposed to be announcing a US tour soon. If I’m home and they’re playing near us we need to go.
You had me at the “acoustic/folk/good music” line, but the personal shout out locked it up. I’ll try to get some of this guys stuff real soon. Hell or Highwater is very pleasing thus far.
And absolutely we need to see City and Colour.
Edit: And ‘Bring Me Your Love’ is one of my all-time favorite albums. You should definitely check out his first album ‘Sometimes’ if you haven’t already. It’s more acoustic and less folk, but fantastic regardless.
the weekend is always the best time of the week for me. I use it to unwind, take a break, and get ready for the next week ahead. for the first time since I can remember I’m not excited for this weekend. I just feel indifferent. I need something this weekend I can’t have. Everything else seems to be on hold; numb. This week could last three times as long and I dont think it would matter.
Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve made up my mind following this sophomore year of college. I’m moving to Providence, RI and transferring to Johnson & Wales University to major in Hospitality. I plan on getting a small studio apartment for myself.
Persons of high self-esteem are not driven to make themselves superior to others; they do not seek to prove their value by measuring themselves against a comparative standard. Their joy is being who they are, not in being better than someone else.
